Evidence record / Java Edition 26.3

How these 1,459 questions were checked

Verified 31 October 2026. Primary game rules, generated item reports and inspected server methods form the evidence behind the answers.

Coverage and challenge levels

There are 1,459 questions across 13 topics. Challenge levels are editorial judgments about the knowledge and reasoning required; they are separate from community difficulty tiers. Every new question starts at HT5 in the shared tier system.

Source verification

The version metadata was fetched again from Mojang. Local client and server archives matched its SHA-1 digests. The server’s inner archive matched SHA-256 a362163eec5d1612d520772bc16e5b39c09e3b234fdc045f56bf544284ee8ae6. All 8,266 extracted vanilla data JSON files matched the verified server archive byte for byte. Embedded experimental data packs were excluded.

The official server’s report generator was run again. All 1,658 item component records and all registry records exactly matched the stored source data. The block and item runtime extractors were also rerun against the same verified server version. All 27 retained redstone class dumps were freshly regenerated and their hashes matched the official implementation.

Question and answer checks

A separate validator reads the finished bank and recalculates every new answer from its cited rule fields. Retained questions have their original primary-source evidence checked again. It expands ingredient groups and loot subtables; checks enchantment eligibility and exclusivity; sums armor attributes; resolves fuel and composting providers; computes enchantment formulas, spawn-weight fractions and multi-stage crafting bills; and checks numeric equivalents and potentially correct alternatives.

Ten earlier questions relying only on un-reverified secondary-source statements were removed from this comprehensive bank. Their topics are not treated as verified just because the statements are familiar. Every retained earlier question has game-data, asset or inspected-runtime evidence.

Runtime fixtures and scope

51 small cases were executed against the official Java methods for normalized inventory comparator output and enchantment protection. The container fixtures bind the three verified vanilla stack limits (stone 64, snowballs 16, iron swords 1) and call the original container method. The fixtures do not start a game world or emulate every gameplay situation.

Conditions matter: possible loot is not a guaranteed drop, biome entry weights are not the chance a random location spawns a mob, and enchantment eligibility does not promise availability at an enchanting table. Each question states the relevant version and assumptions. Alternate editions, commands, custom data packs and future changes are outside this bank’s scope.

Question presentation

All 355 recipe presentations are classified by what is being asked. Ingredient questions name and show the finished item while hiding the ingredient slots until an answer is selected. Output questions show the ingredients and hide the result. Counting and resource-planning questions show their known result and state the calculation scope. Fourteen missing-target stems and seven unnamed-ingredient stems were clarified.
