How these 110 PvP questions were checked

Four topics cover people and competitors, PvP history, techniques and mechanics, and modes and formats. The question bank spans earlier combat history, vanilla Java 1.16.1 mechanics, Java 1.21’s mace release rules, and named server formats. This is Java PvP; it does not assume Bedrock has identical combat.

Mechanics and calculations

Vanilla 1.16.1 combat was checked against the official Mojang server archive and official mappings, verified using launcher SHA-1 hashes. The inspected classes include Player, CombatRules, DamageEnchantment, EndCrystal, EndCrystalItem and RespawnAnchorBlock. Damage scaling, critical conditions, sprint knockback, shield-disable duration, crystal placement and explosion power were reviewed in their mapped routines. Armor, enchantment protection, cooldown, recipe-budget and mace calculations were independently recomputed.

Java 1.21 mace questions use its version-specific official release notes, including fall-distance tiers, Density, Breach, mutual exclusions and Wind Burst’s fall-protection exception. Do not transfer these answers to a later modified server without checking its rules. Tactical answers describe conditional decisions, not guaranteed wins. A W-tap is an input technique; it does not grant extra attack reach.

People and community records

Creator video metadata verifies original authorship. MCC event records, competitors and game-rule questions have moved to the MCC Quiz, with its own evidence catalog.

Three MCPVP questions refer explicitly to a saved 31 October 2026 Legacy-board snapshot with retired players included. They do not claim to describe the live leaderboard. MCPVP’s Legacy board label does not mean vanilla Java 1.8 combat. Affiliate questions name the server and check date.

Mode boundaries

Hypixel game descriptions and PvP Legacy documentation are attributed to their operators. Identically named modes can have different loadouts, plugins, healing rules, scoring and objectives. Server rules are not treated as universal vanilla behavior. Topic icons are neutral Minecraft item illustrations rather than portraits or answer images.

Every new question starts at HT5. Beginner to Expert are authored challenge levels, separate from the changing community tier. Standard, infinite, 60-second speed and hard modes share the PvP bank and have separate mode leaderboards. Source articles are retained privately for reproducibility and are not republished here.
