How these 233 speedrun questions were checked

192 questions cover the Java 1.16.1 MCSR ecosystem: vanilla random-seed routes, MCSR Ranked, tools, creators and history. The all-version track includes all 192 plus 41 questions about other Java versions and historical routes. “All versions” describes the available scope, not exhaustive coverage of every release or category. This quiz does not cover Bedrock.

There are four topics: history, mechanics, people and creators, and routes and strategy. Beginner through Expert are authored challenge levels; community tiers start at HT5. Each answer includes its source, explanation and version/category context.

Version and category boundaries

Vanilla Java 1.16.1 and 1.16.2 barter tables and recipes were read from official Mojang server archives, after verifying their archive SHA-1 against launcher metadata. Recipe counts, loot weights, item ranges and resource calculations were recomputed from those files. Probability questions state their independent-draw model; expected values are not guarantees.

Ranked modifies RNG and world generation. Ranked questions explicitly name it. Its official documentation was checked on 31 October 2026, including the v6 update. Such questions describe that checked ruleset, not every historical season or vanilla RSG. Seed-filter guarantees and spawn candidates retain their documented conditions.

People and historical records

Creator credits come from creator-maintained project READMEs, resource-map credits or creator video metadata. Fixed historical runs use verified speedrun.com records and distinguish in-game time from real time. Completed Ranked seasons use nested historical seasonResult values, preserve tied ranks, and do not identify Elo leaders as playoff champions. No historical question claims to identify the current world record.

Legacy route questions use a community-authored historical speedrunning tutorial, with the relevant version stated in each prompt. Route recommendations are attributed to their guide or creator, rather than asserted as the universally fastest method. Rules questions use the checked Java speedrunning rulebook v8. Official launcher metadata and Mojang patch notes support update-history questions.
